A Day at the Races

What had Gilly let herself in for… taking 50 of the Griffin Naughty Tribe to Newmarket Races for the day!!!

We started with breakfast at the Griffin, then headed off in luxury (thanks, Florida Coaches and Bertie). Despite rain en-route, the sun came out as we stepped off the coach …. and we were treated to a fly-past by a bi-plane and a Hurricane!
Our first port of call was the new Adnams Southwold Bar, where we could study the racecard whilst enjoying a bottle or two of bubbles or a pint.
Techniques for picking horses varied … some studied form, some looked at the horses breeding ….. and Gilly picked horses with drink-related names (DrinkUpTrig). Some of these were more reliable than others!
Some winners, some losers, but lots of laughter and after a fantastic day out, a coach full of very merry friends made their way home.
I’ve had a lovely day out …. so let’s do it again soon ….. watch this space!!!!
P.S. To any doubters, Yes, I did see a horse!!!
